Touched by an Angel
by Debbie Murray
Several things have happened since May 28, 2004, the day my life forever changed, that cannot be a coincidence, and I choose to believe it's Chad giving us a sign that he is at peace. Chad was my only child and left three beautiful children.
I work the overnight shift for a major airline and on Dec 13, 2004, my ex-husband, who is a truck driver, called me at work around 3:30 am and I could hear something strange in his voice the minute I said hello and he said my name.
He lives in Georgia, is an owner-operator truck driver, and was on his way to make a delivery in another state. He had stopped at a truck stop around 2:30 am for coffee and was sitting there thinking about Chad, about his birthday coming up (Dec 19), thinking of having to endure the holidays without him and feeling alone and depressed.
The waitress had just brought his cup of coffee and as he took the first drink and sat the cup down, he looked up and there was a woman standing at his table who appeared from nowhere, and she said, "God wants me to give you a Bible verse". He said, "Okay".
She said, "Who is gone into heaven, and is at the right hand of God, Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." He said, "Thank you" and she was gone.
Just like that! He was so upset after it was over and could not remember the exact words of the Bible verse and then he said he wanted to talk to her so he left his table and walked through the truck stop looking for her but just was gone, vanished.
He went straight to his truck where he had his Bible, but could not find the verse. That is when he called me. He could only paraphrase the verse and I told him I had a Bible web site on my computer in my "favorites" and I would look it up. I found it --- Peter 3:22. When I read it to him again he cried and said, that's it, that's it!
And then, we cried together, knowing that it was Chad's way of letting us know that he is at peace and allowed his Dad to be touched by an Angel.
Chad, you will live forever in our hearts. Love, Mom
