Halloween Scares ...

Matt's favorite time of year was Halloween. He was very gifted with creating special effects. He was in demand to make Halloween Masks and special effects for many people. He made wondrous masks out of liquid latex, often molding them right on his face. The mask he is wearing in the photo "Beauty and the Beast"(on his memory page) was one such mask. It had the ability to move with his expressions, creating an eerie effect. He often scared adults and children alike. Not so his niece, Elizabeth! As young as she was, she was never frightened by Matt in costume. She would say--- "I'm not scared! That's my Matt!"
Matt always had a Halloween scare for each of us. I looked forward to them. He had one for me last year too-he was gone for his 3rd Halloween, as I was going to sleep I looked at my watch and said "Matt, there is still time, I am waiting for my Halloween scare!" When I woke in the morning and looked at my watch ... the numerals 5 and 6 were gone! I took the watch apart thinking somehow they fell off in the night and were loose in the case. No! The numerals were just gone. I had my Halloween scare...
