Posies In Her Pocket, Rainbows In Her Hair
by Nancy Chute
On January 07, 2002, I was awaiting the arrival of a box in the mail with the bitter-sweet remembrances of Patty Ann's funeral. The box arrived at 11:15 AM, the exact time of her funeral, and one week past.
I placed the box gently on the table and spoke to her about what my reaction would be, once faced with the contents. I then carefully opened it.
Before I removed the contents -- floral pieces, a lavender ribbon with her name hand written with silver pen and rose buds -- I glanced at my PC monitor and saw a strange email.
It read: Pat-Hartford Courant-Obit.
Why in the world would they be sending me an obit that had been published one time, one week before?
But by golly, there it was again on the screen. I know this was Patty Ann letting me know there are no coincidences in life. The time on the email was 12:15 PM(ET). We are central time, one hour before.
